Great article. Personally, I don’t practice iaidō to be good at sword fighting. I use it as a tool for self improvement. I get my practical “fighting” ability from training in more active forms of combat sports. I sometimes think that people look at something and try to assign a deeper meaning to things. In reality, “I do it because I’m interested it” is enough of a reason to do anything.

I really resonated with this Peter! There are so many lessons within the practice, that transfer directly to improving one's life off of the mat! Thank you for getting this into my feed this morning.
